Unfortunately I understand some PIP victims have posted emails and letters of advice from their solicitors on social networking sites such as Facebook.

This is very concerning as it is highly likely that the Defendants will be monitoring these posts to try to and gain a better understanding of the claimant’s case and they may use it to gain advantage.

I am therefore posting this reminder to my clients and any other women involved in the PIP litigation that if solicitors letters and correspondence contain legal advice they are legally privileged (that means they must never be disclosed to the Defendants, their lawyers or the courts) and must remain private.  It is important that all these communications should be treated as confidential.  It might harm your chances of success, and also the chances of others, if people outside of this litigation learn of the contents of solicitor’s letters.  Please do not therefore post solicitors correspondence on any social networking sites, many thanks Sam :)
